Good Afternoon Grade 9 - 11 Families:
After Prom Committee is in urgent need of new volunteers, leadership and community donations.
After Prom is a parent, guardian and community-led special event designed to inspire students to stay after the prom, at a parent organized party, in a safe and fun environment on school grounds.
This event offers lots of free exciting prizes, drawings and gifts for students in attendance.
Without additional support After Prom in May may not happen.
Traditionally, the junior class families organize the After Prom each year.
However, the After Prom Committee welcomes all Jr/Sr high school guardians to participate if they would like to. Community members are welcome too!
Can you or someone you know take the lead on one of the following fundraising activities?
- Lottery Board (donations for the board needed as well)
- Super Bowl Squares (approval was given to sell at basketball games)
- Bingo at MWA (one or two evenings in Wells, Vt)
- April Coin Drop (working with Trap Club members to split proceeds)
- Following up on letters to local businesses for After Prom donations
- Open to other fundraising suggestions!
- Chaperones are absolutely needed for After Prom event
Please contact school parent, Bridget Sheldrick-Humphries TODAY at granvilleafterprom@yahoo.com for questions and how you would like to get involved.
Thank you!

Unified sports is all about everyone deserves to play! This program promotes inclusion by bringing students with disabilities together as teammates. Our group of students met other students from around the region worked together to learn more about the concept of inclusion in sports, discussed best practices for activation, and a plan of action for advocacy within their respective schools.
"We had a great day and our students, as always, showed up to be AMAZING! We learned a lot as a group and have plans moving forward to promote more inclusive activities in our school community for unified sports.
One of the tasks the students were asked to complete was to brainstorm a poster that represents Granville. Our students worked so well together and came up with an awesome concept of "Granville Always Picks Up!" When unified sports calls, we pick up! The poster is currently hanging in the High School main office." - Coach Barber
Here are a few pictures from their day.
Thank you to Katie Barber, Granville Jr/Sr High P.E. Teacher and Special Education Teacher, Jessica Sheldon for taking our students on an educational adventure. To learn more about unified sports in our region visit https://www.specialolympics-ny.org/capitalregion/

GES Families: This morning, a false fire alarm briefly went off at GES while personnel were working on the new alarm system. Our students and staff responded quickly and calmly, exiting the building and returning inside shortly afterward once it was clear that everything was safe.
Please note, instead of a loud, piercing sound the fire alarm notice was a recorded voice that says "please evacuate the building for an emergency." We wanted to keep you informed and assure you that everyone is safe and back in their classrooms.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
The GES Team
Jr/Sr High Families: The Parent/Player/Coach meeting will be held this Thursday, 11/13 at 5:30 PM at the high school.

Dear School Families, The district will practice an emergency release on Friday, November 7th. All students will be released 15 minutes early from school. All schools in New York State must complete an emergency early release drill once per year that requires schools to evacuate their students and staff at least 15 minutes before their regular dismissal time. This drill helps to prepare in the case of an emergency that would require schools to transport their entire district home or to another location prior to the end of the school day. The buildings will be dismissed at the following times:
Jr/Sr High: 2:00
GES: Walkers 2:00 - Bussers - 2:10
MJT: Walkers 2:05 - Bussers- 2:15 UPK - 2:05
For any questions, please call your building main office, thank you.
For details/questions please see Mr. Houston in Art or Ms. Bucciero in the Library
Transportation Survey: Students, families and staff, we value your feedback. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts on our one-route bus transportation system with Mr. Hall by Monday, Nov 10th 8 AM. Thank you! https://forms.gle/jzEJZZgrsYqci2zv9
