Thanks to the Granville NY PTO's help, we take time each month to acknowledge a stellar staff member in each of our three school buildings.
Staff of the Month receive a beautiful charcuterie board made of Granville slate and a fun water bottle from the PTO.
At the Jr/Sr High, Mrs. Gribble, the Senior High Secretary was nominated!
"Brittany works as our Sr High Guidance Secretary. In the constantly busy guidance office, her patience, organizational skills, and friendliness provide a calming presence in the office. She has been a great asset to our building since her hiring in 2023." - Principal Nassivera
At GES, Ms. Brown, 6th Grade Teacher was nominated!
"Tori is new to Granville Elementary School this year and has stepped into her new role with an enthusiasm, energy, and readiness that has already made an impression on our school community. She has embraced the transition to GES with the excitement of a new teacher while also approaching her responsibilities with professionalism and a genuine desire to do what is best for her students." - Principal Strong
And at MJT, Ms. Kwak, Special Education Teacher and After School Program Coordinator was nominated!
"Ms. Kwak has transitioned into a new teaching role this year, and has created an inviting, engaging, and exciting classroom full of hands-on learning experiences. Additionally, she is co-coordinating our new After School Program this year. This adds two extra hours onto her day, and a significant amount of planning, organization, and communication with staff and families. She exhibits high energy and enthusiasm all day long, and we appreciate all of her dedication to the students of MJT!" - Principal Taylor

Friendly Reminder: It is extremely important that your child gets to school on time so that they can start their day with their peers. Often they have morning work tasks to work on, and coming in late to the classroom puts them behind and causes a disruption in instruction for the teacher and other students. Hurrah! We have an afterschool program at Mary J. Tanner School for UPK to grade 2 and it is well underway!
Here are a few pictures of our MJT students enjoying this program . Crafts, puzzles, fun educational games, plenty of outdoor play, snacks and homework help led by an MJT staff and two high school students who assist.
Thank you to the huge team effort it took to pull this off! MJT's Principal Taylor, District office staff, MJT teaching staff who offered to work after school, the transportation department for finding way to provide transportation home and the driver who offered to take this late route, AND two Granville High teens from the Jr/Sr who come over everyday after school to assist. A true school wide effort.
Fun fact: nearly 50% of the families enrolled registered within hours of receiving notice of this program. We have one or two spots left (please call MJT main office if interested).
