It's Homecoming Weekend! Football game tonight at 7pm and Homecoming Dance tomorrow 6-9pm. Tickets available at Main Office for $20, includes dinner.
High Five to Our Music Department! - Earlier this month, our Superintendent and Jr/Sr High Principal received a letter of praise from Vermont State University about our music educators, Ms. Stout and Mr. Cerullo, and their student's presence, preparation and presentation at the 2024 Vermont State University Castleton Honors Festival in Castleton, Vermont. Hurrah!

receptive to learning and rehearsing the music for that evening’s performance.

Things to Sign Up For
10/21 - 7th Grade Google Classroom - 7th Grade Families, please check your email for the invite to the Grade 7 Homework/Classwork/Tests page on the Google Classroom. This page will summarize assignments, tests, due dates, end of marking periods, etc. in one easy-to-navigate Google Sheets document. The page will go "live' on Monday, October 21st. 10/21 - 11/1 - Winter Sports Sign Up - Sign up in PE Classes. Details in District Calendar.
10/23 - Deadline for 9th Grade Upward Bound Program - Learn more about this free program for modest income households and potential first generation college students here.
10/25 - Early Bird Rate Ends for Yearbook Orders - The yearbook is currently $55 (before taxes) until 10/25 - price goes up to $65 after this date. Order online here.
10/25 - Deadline for Operation Santa Claus - Apply for free clothing and gifts for your students. Here is the link to the details.
11/1 - Deadline to Send in Two Senior Photos - Mr. Bunker (jbunker@granvillecsd.org) needs the following from seniors by November 1st: Two senior photos (one formal and one casual) and one baby photo.
11/4 - Leo Club - Brand new leadership and mentoring club with the Granville Lions Club for grades 7-12. For details click this link.

Ongoing Resources
Open Gym - Come shoot hoops in the Sr High Gym. Girls basketball 7-12th Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-8pm; Boys Basketball 7-12th Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-8:30pm
Homework Club - Do you need a quiet space to do homework and access school Wi-Fi?
Morning Homework Club meets every morning at 6:50; meet Mr. Hardin by Main Entrance.
Afterschool Homework Club meets Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2:20 - 3:20 in Mrs. Rath’s Room 109. Join anytime.
More Clubs - There is a place for everyone at Granville Jr/Sr High. Encourage your child to sign up for a club by listening to morning announcements with details of upcoming meetings. Morning Announcements are also posted on the TV outside of High School Gym.
We have Drama Club, Dungeons & Dragons Club, Future Farmers of America (FFA), Guitar Club, Math Club, Marching Band, Journalism Club with a Jr and Sr High Paper, Ski and Snowboard Club, Spanish Club, Student Council, Trap Club, Spirit Club, Jazz Band, National Honor Society, Quiz Bowl Club, Yearbook Club and Leo Club.
No Outside Food Deliveries - Outside food/drink deliveries create a serious class disruption for teachers, classrooms and custodians.
Clothing Closet - Our Jr/Sr High has a clothing closet in the Jr High Guidance Office. Your student can stop by anytime and shop for free. If you would like to make a donation to the clothing closet, please contact Community School Coordinator, krozell@granvillecsd.org.

Career Planning
Ask your student to take this career assessment from SUNY Adirondack to get a feel for what they're interested in and how it relates to finding a good job. When your student can see the point of school (for example, a pathway to independence and helping their family), they become much more interested.
