High school art students in Mrs. Monroe's graphic design class and art club recently took a field trip to Glens Falls to visit Trampoline Design and The Hyde Collection.

The visit to Trampoline Design was a great experience for the students, especially those interested in pursuing a career in graphic design. The team at Trampoline Design gave the students goodie bags and took time out of their busy work day to share their knowledge and advice with the students. In addition to being creative, the students learned they must also have good communication skills, especially listening, when it comes to working with various clients. It was a great opportunity for students to see a successful local company thriving in the graphic design field, as we often associate such with big cities. The students in Mrs. Monroe's class often work on design projects for the school and community which includes designing logos, menus, and more. These projects help the students gain real graphic design experience and build their portfolios.

The students then went to The Hyde Collection to admire the work of artists such as Warhol, Picasso, Rembrandt, and more. Many students were amazed and surprised by the collection in our own backyard of such world-renowned artists. The 28th annual High School Juried Art Show was also on exhibit. This show invites students grades 9-12 in the WSWHE BOCES region to submit original works of art for consideration. This year, over 700 piece were entered, with approximately 100 pieces selected for exhibition.
